The Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC Countries team, led by the Chairperson of Electoral Commission of Namibia Dr Elsie T. Nghikembua undertook a Pre Assessment Mission to Seychelles in the period 26-31 July 2025. Other participating member commissions were the National Electoral Commission (CENI) DRC, Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) Eswatini.

The purpose of the Pre Assessment Mission was to assess the state of preparedness of the Electoral Commission of Seychelles to conduct the upcoming elections scheduled for 27 September 2025. The Mission also engaged with some key electoral stakeholders to get their perspectives on the context within which the 2025 elections will be held. 

The Mission concluded its work by holding a consultative meeting with the Electoral Commission of Seychelles to discuss key issues raised by stakeholders, Mission observations and recommendations for consideration. 

The ECF-SADC will be back to Seychelles in September 2025 with a 20-member observer mission
