The Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC (ECF-SADC) countries as a network of Election Management Bodies in the SADC region received an invitation to observe the 2024 National & Provincial Elections.  It has deployed an election observer mission to the NPE elections of the Republic of South Africa scheduled for 29 May 2024. The mission comprises of forty (40) members from twelve (12) Electoral Commissions and is led by Mrs Mwangala F. Zaloumis SC, the Chairperson of Electoral Commission of Zambia, deputized by Hon. Justice Jacobs Mwambegele, the Chairperson of Independent National Electoral Commission of Tanzania.

The Mission period is from 17^th May to 2^nd June 2024 and is based at the Centurion Hotel in Pretoria. The Mission will undertake several activities during Pre-Election, Election Day and Post Election.

The mission has had a refresher orientation for its observers on the 22^nd May and on the 23^rd May had a stakeholder engagement session where it met key electoral stakeholders including academia, civil society organizations, and political parties to get key perspectives on election issues and the general environment within which the 2024 elections are taking place.

The mission will also observe the special voting scheduled for 27 & 28 May 2024 and will attend some of final political rallies ahead of voting day.
