The Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC Countries has deployed to the United Republic of Tanzania, a nine (9) member team led by Chairperson of Electoral Commission of South-Africa. The other participating members were Angola, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

The mission covered both mainland and Zanzibar in the period 12-16 August 2025.  Pre Election Assessment missions are aimed at establishing the level of preparedness of the INEC and ZEC to conduct the upcoming elections to take place on 29th October 2025. The Mission also engaged electoral stakeholders to establish the context and environment within elections are taking place.

Arrangements are underway to deploy a main observer mission to the United Republic of Tanzania
