The ECF-SADC leadership paid courtesy call on the Executive Secretary of the SADC Secretariat on the 13^th September 2023 at the SADC Headquarters in Gaborone, Botswana. The courtesy call was undertaken in the spirit of regional integration and collaboration and for the two organizations to converse on issues of mutual interest as articulated in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two organizations in July 2019.  The two organizations emphasized the importance of implementing the existing MoU to strengthen collaboration in the context of at enhancing electoral democracy and promoting an environment for holding credible and transparent elections in the SADC region.

The ECF-SADC team was led by the Forum’s President and Chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of Botswana, Hon Justice Barnabas Nyamadzabo. The delegation also included  Hon. Justice Chifundo Kachale, Chairperson of Malawi Electoral Commission; Mr Mosotho Moepya, Chairperson of Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa; Ambassador Rodney Kiwa, Vice Chairperson of Zimbabwe Electoral Commission; Mr Roger Bimwala Commissioner, at the National Electoral Commission of the DRC; Mr Florent Kibongo, Technical Advisor to the Chairperson at the National Electoral Commission of the DRC; Jeff Siamisang, Secretary of IEC Botswana   and Ms Doreen Serumula, Deputy Secretary  of IEC Botswana; Hilda Modisane, Executivie Secretary at the ECF-SADC Secretariat, and  Lone Phineas, Programme Officer at the ECF-SADC Secretariat,.
